One of the most asked questions we get at CHORD Real Estate is where does Van shop for our staging furniture? We can't give away all of our secrets, but Van finally agreed to disclose 5 of his favorites. So here they are. Enjoy!
I'm Van Hohe. I'm one of the owners here at CHORD Real Estate, and my role in the partnership is Chief Experience Officer.
At CHORD Real Estate, we really do believe that everyone deserves the best, no matter the price point. We bring that same stuff that we bring into staging a $10 Million estate…we bring it into the $100,000 condo that we're selling as well. The potential buyer comes in and they say, “My goodness, I didn't know I could live like this!” And the thing is, they really can.
People have asked so often, “Where do you shop? What do you do? Where do you find all these things?” That's what we're doing today. We're going to go see my five favorite places to shop for staging a house…whether that's staging it to sell or staging it for a client to move in and live there.
All About Art
We love Joy and Adam at All About Art. You know they provide such a great service to everyone…from high-end art all the way to very entry-level price points. They bring great art to our community. Often, when I'm doing a home, I want to put pieces that are going to pull people through the home, so I use a lot of mirrors and a lot of great art.
English & Company
So here we are at English & Company. This is one of my secret spots. If I need that piece that I can't find at a typical shop, I can come here, because it's always changing…always different. They've always got something, and it's at every price point. Check out this mirror. I put a mirror in every single room in the home. That way as somebody is walking through the home, they see themselves. And after they see themselves so many times, they do start to see themselves living there. And that's kind of the key to staging…is that you want people to experience how the home lives.
So when I come to a place like Merridian, what they have is a great combination of traditional and modern. We call it transitional. Most homes kind of ebb and flow between those two elements, so I'm able to come here and find things for any house I'm working on…no matter the style.
Nadeau…man, it all looks one of a kind. You can get things you've never even dreamed about. If you see something you like, you better buy it that day, because it will not be there the next day.
ReCreations Home Furnishings
And at ReCreations Home, man…it's just fine furniture from wall to wall, floor to ceiling…the artwork, the mirrors. There is nothing like it. Now you gotta check this one out…one of my favorite painters, Ronald Baldwin. Check this out! For the right client, look out. It's extraordinary.
These places are just absolute gems. Five of my favorite places to go. The neat thing is, in Nashville, that's just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many…truly, there is furniture in this town, and paintings, and collections to pull from that you would have you would have no concept of right here in Middle Tennessee.
