Whatever you are doing, stop! Get in your car and drive to Midtown to have the most delicious meal you’ve ever had in Nashville. Although Nada isn’t brand new to the Nashville food scene, it’s new to me. I’ve seen it many times driving to our Music Row office and visiting Caviar & Bananas but, honestly, wasn’t anxious to try another bougie Mexican restaurant. I’m pleased to report I was pleasantly surprised and may even be able to describe this as an addiction.
Today Steve and I got a hankering for our new favorite and jumped on two Bird Scooters and headed there for lunch.
Let’s start by saying the atmosphere is on point. The decor could be described as chic Spanish-style but not overwhelmingly so. The seating is comfortable, the bar is spacious, and the staff is welcoming. It’s a completely relaxing environment you could enjoy with anyone: friends, colleagues, clients, and seems to be kid-friendly as well.
The menu consists of well-crafted cocktails, an amazing culinary selection of street-style tacos, delicious side dishes, salads, and “saganaki” quesadillas. If you don’t know what “saganaki” is, its a Greek technique of frying cheese. Low on the carbs; high on the yum factor!
Today my sampling was the Caramelized Cauliflower, Fried Tofu, and Carne Asada Tacos with the Tomato Confit Rice. PRO TIP: Order their Taco Lunchbox and you get a homemade doughnut for dessert as well. (Its like a beignet with a delicate caramel sauce!)
Steve ordered the Grilled Shrimp, Chicken Carbon, and the Carne Asada with the Sweet-Chili Glazed Crack Potatoes.
Every time we go I try something new and always think there is NO WAY I could love this meal more than the last but somehow I always leave with a new favorite and a stuffed belly.
